After I finally got around to reading JD Salinger’s 1951 classic The Catcher In the Rye, I decided this iconic work would be ideal for a logo/book jacket design exercise. I wanted the design to capture the youthful angst and raw emotion of Holden, to help capture this,  I experimented with some different hand lettering. I used Holden’s iconic red cap and cigarette ash as visual catalysts to set the whole design off.
